Regional judgement
My familiarity with Spanish usage in Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador helps me identify expressions that travel well and those that need a local alternative.
ABOUT ANDRÉS
My work brings together translation, editorial judgement and an understanding of how people use content. A product interface, a technical article and a spoken script each need a different approach.
I work across English and Spanish, with experience adapting content for Spain and Latin America—from terminology and register to the small expressions that make a text feel natural.
I consider what the text needs to do, who will read it and where it will appear. Those decisions shape the vocabulary, rhythm and level of formality.
My familiarity with Spanish usage in Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador helps me identify expressions that travel well and those that need a local alternative.
When reviewing a translation, I compare it with the source as well as reading it independently. This helps catch omissions and shifts in meaning that a grammar check alone can miss.
I work with structured spreadsheets, subtitle files and formatted documents, respecting the conventions and instructions that make the final content usable.
